Dorian N. Daggs is a partner in the firm of Heise Suarez Melville, P.A. (“HSM”) where he practices in the areas of renewable energy litigation and complex civil litigation including commercial and personal injury class actions, contract matters, commercial landlord-tenant disputes, commercial foreclosure cases, and difficult business divorces.
Prior to joining HSM in 2021, Dorian was Managing Litigation Attorney for NextEra Energy Resources, LLC (“NextEra”), a leading renewable energy developer and generator and sister company to Florida Power & Light Company (“FPL”) headquartered in Juno Beach, Florida. In that role, he counseled the various business units of the company on litigation matters, dispute avoidance, and resolution. Prior moving to Florida to join NextEra in 2010, Dorian was a litigation partner in the Atlanta office of Thompson Hine, LLP where he focused his practice on business disputes, executive compensation, and ERISA matters. Dorian serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Children’s Home Society (“CHS”) of Florida’s Palm Beach Division. CHS provides services to at-risk and abused youth and facilitates adoptions and foster care.
Dorian is a summa cum laude graduate of Howard University where he received a B.A. in Communications. He earned his Juris Doctor from the Georgetown University Law Center. He and his wife, Nicole, who is Vice President of Human Resources for FPL, are the proud parents of two boys, Ellis (16) and Britton (14).
